Editing plan

Day 1: Uploading footage.. took alot longer than expected and didn't end up having time to play around and get into the bottom of this. Day 2: Start playing around to see what over exposing looks like and able to have a chance of getting used to using Final Cut. Day 3: Start putting the footage together. Day 4: Audience feedback lesson, this helps us get the best outcome by listening to what our target Audienxe Want. Day 5: Lesson after audience feedback, this helps gain the best video by listening to peers and what they think would work well. Day 6: Finish editing, full media video is finished, just have to make sure that everything is where it needs to be.

Meeting schedule

When we first started planning our music video we were going to use Robyn's friend Emma Bryne, we met up and started to take photos, as Emma was unable to film when we were free we decided to recast and chose Robyn to be our star instead. This was alot easier and saved alot of time because we could use our lesson time to film. Day 1: Tuesday, 12.30 onwards to film the white room, taking place at Robyn's house, so we had however long we needed to film and don't have to rush anything, because it's the main part of our video it should be very time consuming. Day 2: Tuesday, 12.30-3.30 to film the bike scene at The Hamptons. Unfortunately, after we had set up, we realised we had forgotten the camera and have rescheduled for next tuesday Day 3: Tuesday, 12.30-3.30 back to The Hamptons to film the bike scene. Day 4: Friday, 1-3.30 to film the rest of the footage at Harry Moppett's house, this shouldn't take too long as it's just the footage we need to fill in the gaps and use as cut aways! Filming finished :)

Our Group

Our group is Robin Archard, Libby Amponsah and Chloe Thomas. The song we have chosen is Eliza Doolittle - Moneybox.

Costume organisation

For our outifit/costume choices we wated it to be slightly more relaxed than normal music video, for our str to be bare footed and nautural. This wasnt going to be a glamourous music video but very fashionable. for this we decided that we wanted to use a lot of denim as denim is timeless, which we were then going to spruce up with colourul other items of clothing.

Denim and florals was our first brainstormed idea on cotsume, I feel this will go well with both the hair and make-up ideas, to all form one complete look.

Bright lips, subtle natural make-up glow, floral and or denim clothing, curly hair.

None of our outfits choices are too promiscuious but there is going to be some flesh showing.

Hair ideas

The one thing we knew that was definet is that our star was going to hav curly hair, as their was only on person that had to get ready for our film, we could spend as much time as necessary to make our star look perfect, so we curled our stars whole head to perfection. apart from having curly hair we where thinking of styling it slightly different in everyshot to show the difference in the scene (Apart from the outfit).

Here are some of the ideas of curly hair styles that we thought of.

Possibly for a scene were our star is playng with flowers

The general hairstyle

Not so curly, natural waves for the bicycle scenes

For piggy bank breaking scene

Close up shots of our star, the plait can be seen as added detail to her hairstyle

Problems with make-up!

After deciding to use a bright orange coloured lipstick, the harsh lighting that we needed to use inorder to make our footage look brighter caused the lipstick to melt, which thus made it bleed to the side of the stars lips, because of this problem we had to keep touching up he make-up after every so shots.

Make-up and ideas for our star

As we knew exactly what type of genre we wacted our music video to be, it was easy for us to decide what make-up we wanted our star to have.

Makeup: We wanted bright coloured make-up but still fashionable and pretty. Therefore we knew that we werent going to use coloured eyeshadows or anything too flamboyant. Therefore we decided that we would do subtle eyeshadow colour (Flesh coloured/Beige) and have bright or dark coloured lipstick, e.g. orange, red, bright pink, black or plum.

Considering the fact that black lipstick something that you would usually associate with rock music we realised the growing trend of this shade of lipstick as other artsists also in the pop catergory of music wear this colour lipstick as this is the new zeitgeist.

Pitch for our music video

Location: Living room (Harry's house), The Hamptons (Bike scene), My House (white room)
Costume: Green vintage prom dress, masks, one piece furry overalls, dungarees
Cast: Robyn Archard; 'Evie'
Props: Bike, monopoly board, dolls house, piggy bank, inflatable hammer, various toys.
Narrative: The main themes in our music video are games, and imagination, and we will show this through the use of random props and a fun upbeat style. This will portray Evie as a fun, quirky and indie star. The music video unfolds with 'Evie' sitting on an old fashioned chair, looking bored and singing to the camera. We will have a scene of playing monopoly in the white room with three mysterious characters in masks. We will also show a dolls house and will try to make it look as if she is in the dollshouse. We will use a piggy bank to relate to the lyrics, however we will make this comical by using an inflatable hammer to pretend to try and smash the piggy bank. We will then have a scene with her riding along the streets on a bike. The main element of our video is performance and this will be in the white room, in which we want to create an over exposed effect.

This is our main pitch for our ideas and we hope they will be successful. We have looked into how they fit in with codes and conventions of different music videos, and they fit most closely with a pop video. We have drawn some very close comparisons with Jessie J's video 'Price Tag'. Typically, pop videos feature performance, and this is a major aspect of our video so fits in with the codes and conventions well. Similarly, the scene we plan on the bike has been used numerous time in videos I have researched, for instance Eliza Doolittle's video 'Roller blades', and Cleo Sol's video 'High'.

Call Sheet

Prop List

Here is a list of props we need to film our music video...

Evidence of initial group discussions and ideas

Here is some evidence of our initial planning. We have some very imaginitive ideas, for example having the artist in a  life size barbie box, pretending to be a doll. We want to express exaggerated happiness through the use of the theme of games, for instance dices, monopoly etc. This is similar to Eliza Doolittle in some ways, however, we have developed her look further.
